Default SES (service engine soon)....

Well, today the car is officially broken in, so I decided to take her for a spin. I got on a road near by and proceded to bring her to about 6000 rpms. When it hit 6k I saw the SLIP light come on (tcs was on) and then the rpms fumbled a second and the TCS OFF came on. No big deal, so then I see the SES light up. Service Engine soon.... When I got to my destination I shut her down and turned her back on to see the TCS and SLIP lights had gone away but the SES light was still on. It is on as we speak, I tried disconnecting battery for a while but that didnt work either. Manual says it comes on when there is an Emissions Control Malfunction and that after a few normal "trips" in the car it will go off. I took a 15-20 minute trip around shut her off again, turned her back on, its still on! Drove a little more, still on. Is this a problem? Or should I just reset the ECU and blame it on the cars first time seeing hard driving?

Default SES Light...

finally went off this morning on the way to work! It had been on steady for about 250 miles. Since it wasn't blinking, I thought it was probably something to do with the fuel cap and rode it out since the owners manual says that if you make sure the fuel cap is sealing ok, "....after a few trips, it should go out...." Well, it was a few trips alright. 250 miles of trips!

is back on again. It went out the other day after about 250 miles. Stopped for gas last night on the way home - it's back on again! I'll have the crack Nissan mechanics look at it when I take it in for its oil change.

Should have done that in the first place. The light doesn't come on untill two identical instances have occurred. So when you see the light on, bring it to get checked out.
