Default Repairing thread pattern

I am adding engine oil temperature sandwich plate and I think somehow I overtightened it and the engine oil bolt thread got messed up. Weird thing is, when I tried to tighten the new oil filter, it goes in without any problem.

Is there any way to fix the broken thread pattern?
Any help or suggestion appreciated
thanks in advance

They make thread restorer kits, and a tap and die set will also make the threads back.

Just make sure not to get any shavings in the oil system. Don't want any of them running through your motor, they don't make friends very well.
