Son of a ....
Same thing is happening with my G. They re-torqued the entire suspension with no luck. Hrm...it's under warranty though. Not sure how to handle this: either let them know what the source is (I'm pretty certain this is the problem) and have them deal with it as they see fit, or tackle it myself / suck it up.

Would this also work? The I.D. is little smaller than 1/2"
okay i found the pipe i used. it is pex tubing. this is what is written on it..

1/2"id by 5/8"od...H/C Pex Tube. 5ft QB3PS5X. upc is "0 84169 48506 9". i think i got it from ACE Hardware, but it may have been lowes. Anyways, it is a standard size pex tubing that you should be able to find easily.

here is a link to what lowes carries.

http://www.lowes.com/pd_220246-61002...|0%26Ntt%3Dpex

you will see that the pex is more flexable than the stuff in the link you posted, which makes it work well for this application, if it is the size you need.

the one I'm looking at had .489" ID. is it OK to use?
wouldn't it be better to use flexible one since they won't crack easier than hard ones?

i just finished this DIY. The squeeking noise is still there but it was reduced by a lot with the gasket.
FOr the shock bolt spacers, Stance gr+ true style has different hole sizes! Ex. on the left coilover, there are two bolt holes in the shock bracket for a bolt to go through them, right?
One hole has .502" diameter and other hole is 5/8" diameter (what OP mentioned). My 5/8" diameter CPVC pipe cant be installed in .502" diamter.

Yes 4sure fix. Same issue with Tein mono flex. FYI may need to slightly sand cpvc to fit aftermarket bracket. NO MORE NOISE!!!

Hey guys,

Does your rear clunking noise go away when its really hot outside and the car has been sitting in the sun for a while? Mine only does this sh*t in the cold man. Its so irritating.

yeah the noise was more present during the winter, but now no noise ever. just normal suspension sounds you get from being lowered. the key is to find whatever will fill the gap between the shock bolt and hole in the shock mount. i am glad others have had success with this fix.

Mike, Mine does exactly that - when it's warm out and the car's been in the sun, no noise. When it's cold out - clunk, clunk, clunk... Really irritating. NO idea what's causing it. I am rolling stock suspension.

I'm running a stock suspension as well, with RsR lowering springs. This sound is coming from my drivers side, most people complain about the passenger side. On my passenger side I get a very high pitched squeak, I think its the shock that raises my trunk and holds it up. But that sound is totally tolerable. This clunk is RIDICULOUS. If anyone in the SoCal area can do this DIY for me, I'd be ecstatic lol

Engineering friend of mine has access to a machine shop and currently a rod of stainless steel (unsure of grade right now) that he is sure would be a great fit for this purpose. We also have some Aluminum 6061, though it would be more malleable so we are going with the Stainless.

Not trying to make grips of money here but just seeing if any others would be interested in some cheap sets. He figures he can cut 10 sets of 4 out of the leftover available rod, is there any interest?

This is basically just repay him for his time to have these milled, 20~25 bucks a set shipped I would imagine and it would make his day. I can get images once available, just attempting to gauge interest.
