don't know about the fronts.

valve packing is used inside valves to keep fluid from leaking out of the valve handle like on a water hose bib. you can find it in the plumbing section of Lowe's. it comes in two thicknesses I got the thinner one about 1/8". it is just basically a rubber sheet. it is usually near the PVC cement and stuff like that.

Thanks nismo542, one last question what did you use to cut the PVC tubing? I never cut PVC tubing before but it doesn't sound difficult. What did you use?

I'm getting my Tokicos installed tomorrow.

I will bring this up with the tech before the install to verify whether I have the same issue.

Waizzz,

If you don't mind mind can you double check if both front and rear holes the same size? I know we have different suspension but hey it might be the same. Thanks I really appreciated.

i have a pvc cutter that i got when i put in my irrigation system, but you can use a hacksaw or even a utility knife since this is such a small piece of pvc.

bump for long term feedback - did the pvc hold up? Did the rubber gasket cause any issues with the bolts coming loose?

so far so good...i havent really looked at any of it since i did the mod. i do still have a little noise but it just seems to be normal coilover noises, not the clunks and stuff it had before. it is still puzzling how any noise there is seems to be worse in cold weather, it must have to do with how the "stuff" in the shocks changes at colder temps.

i have a set of tires i will be installing when i get a chance and will take some time then to do a pic update on the pvc rings.

I just did a similar mod on my tein monoflex and this worked well. A PVC spacer would not fit in the tein monoflex bolt opening, so I ended up just cutting a couple thin strips of electrical tape (~10 inches long, 1/4 inch wide) and winding it around the bolt to form some padding.

good write up OP. so is it safe to say that your method is 100% successful? if so then nice job finding and pinpointing the issue and solving it with the most inexpensive materials

the only noise i have left is just regular coilover noise that is gonna be there due to the stiffer ride and if i put the stance dampeners on the softest setting almost all that noise goes away. the annoying noise that was caused by the bolt hole being to big is gone and the fix is still holding up fine.

Awesome, gonna try this out after years of annoying CLUNK noise on sketchy roads. This should be a sticky.

Couldn't do it. I pulled my suspension out and see that this modification won't work with it.

you can improvise with the material used. it doesnt have to be pvc. you just need something that will fill in the extra space so the bolt isnt free to move in the hole. if you look at lowes in the hardware section there are plenty of things that will work depending on the size gap that needs to be filled. even a bunch of o rings or something like that would work for a while.

OP, do you have some PVC pipes left? I checked out both lowes n home depot but they didn't have the same outer diameter as you mentioned. they don't have it at all. oh they didn't have cpvc either only PVC.

i doubt i have any left, i did some cleaning out of the garage.

this piping is a standard size and can be found in the section near the pex tubing that is used as water supply in houses, i believe it was sch 80 rated, pex tubing could also work. it is not ridig plastic like that larger diameter any home store will have this same tubing.

checked out ace hardware also but they didn't have it either. cpvc pipes or the specific size is like special or something.

Would this also work? The I.D. is little smaller than 1/2"
