Default Hydraulic Jack Question

I did some searching around here for a low profile hydraulic jack for lifting my car, and noticed some people were using a 3000lbs rated jack to lift their 350z, however, the curb weight of the car is more than 3000lbs. My question is whether or not it is safe to use a jack (with jack stands) that has a 3000lbs rating (1 1/2 ton)?? I found a low profile jack here in Toronto but don't want to pull the trigger until I find this out.

Thanks!
D

LOL...are you lifting all 4 wheels off the ground at once? If not, then there is your answer.

Whatever you do, don't but the Jacks from JEGS.. Mine just broke after about 2 years of use. Leaking fluids everywhere and doesn't hold pressure.
