funny smell from my engine
So I replaced the rocker (valve cover) on my car. I put all the sensors, hoses, the intake manifold and plenum back on, at least to the best of my recollection.
I fired up my car and drove it pretty hard. The oil pressure was fine, engine was at the correct temp and the mileage seemed ok.
There's one thing that's bothering me though, it's a burning rubber type smell coming from my engine. It's not blatant, but was noticeable getting out of my car after the 20 minute drive home last night. Any idea what might be causing this? There's one bolt on the valve cover that i left unused, driver side near the furthest ignition coil into the engine bay on the right edge. I'm guessing it's for some harness but i'm not sure what it's for. Either way, I don't think this could be causing the smell. Any suggestions on what to check ?
