help plz,engine light came on!
no...
The check engine light should have nothing to do with your side markers
I would either 1 go to autozone and get the code checked OR
2 just disconnect your battery for about 10 minutes and pump on the brakes a couple times after you disconnect it. that should drain all the capacitors and reset the ECU.

Amen! If you get a SES/CEL light, shouldn't your first instinct be to have the code pulled to determine the meaning before posting and asking for help? It's kind of like going to the doctor and asking for a diagnoses without telling him where you have pain...
I disagree with everyone else. He said they are led side markers and i'm assuming there was some wiring involved and you didn't disconnect the battery when hooking them up. So, yes you side markers most likely have to do with your check engine light. sometimes, when you don't disconnect the battery and you mess with wiring you will trip a false code. I did the same thing when changing my power controls on my seat and i also got a check engine light and also a air bag light. Follow these steps to reset your ecu. After you follow the directions the light should go off and you should be good to go. If it comes back on you have a problem. I would try this first it worked for me.
