Pull into the gas station during lunch today to fill up. Go to release the fuel door and the entire button pushes into the dash. WTF? Luckily I was able to reach in behind the dash and push the button back into place. Button still works but why is in the hell is is pushing through the dash? I'm not sure if the mounting tabs are broken or not. I'll have to inspect it once I get home.

 

if that happens to me i know its probably from the over-zealous pushing on the button since the fuel door never opens all the way.

We "G" guys don't get a button. To open the fuel door you press the non hinged portion from the out side and it opens. If the doors are locked, that wont work and the fuel door wont open. I don't like this arrangement, and would rather have a fuel door button. IMO of course.

The linkage is electrical, not mechanical. Pushing it harder doesn't do anything extra. Just punch it a few times and it should release (shouldn't have to do this I know, but it works....)
