You have several choices:

a. Remove and replace your crankshaft. This is a known motor (miles) and one you are familiar with.

b. Reconditioned used motor.

c. Used motor out of a wrecked Z.

Make some calls. Check your regional forum for available motors.

Oh I forgot. If the flywheel is stuck to the crankshaft why not just leave it alone?

An E-Z out would make your engine not last long?

that crank that the flywheel bolts screw into isn't aluminum....if yours was aluminum you must have some trick formula 1 crank. Should be steel like every other crank.

if the flywheel is still stuck to the crank then that means the bolts aren't broken. i'm curious to see how it's stuck. Big *** impact will get them loose or snap them off. Once they snap you can drill a hole in the middle of them and use an ez out or just drill them out and re-tap for new threads. I'm sure not EVERY bolt is stuck.

or like davidv said, just leave the flywheel alone and put a new friction disk and pressure plate on it.

+1

it's not stuck, the shop is trying to take you for money. Even if the bolts were stuck you could get a big breaker bar in there and break them off/ez-out them out. There's no reason to be looking for a new crank, or a new motor. Tell the shop to put it back together and that because the practice bad business ethics that you are taking your business elsewhere.

I wouldn't trust them to change my tires....or my oil.....or my......uh....gas?

it IS a full aluminum engine. aluminum block and heads are what define an aluminum engine. Your flywheel doesn't bolt into either so the jackass that used that as an excuse is taking you for a fool.

Whoever told you that your crank is aluminum is a jackass. Listen to Binder and Junkie. They are right.
