Default New owner...2 questions??

2008 w/6k all stock

1. I turned down my radio last night while driving to just listen to the sounds my Z makes. When I shift gears, it makes like a low popping noise. The noise comes from the shifter, not like it's popping into gears. The noise sounds like the top of a baby jar when you push in on it...but not as loud. If the radio is down, and the windows are down you can barely hear it. Is this normal & can someone verify the noise?

2. If I rev the engine up, when the rpm's are coming back down, it gets to 1500 rpm's then slowly goes to the idle rpm's. Is this normal & can someone verify?

Thanks in advanced.

Is it popping when you depress the clutch or release it. Or when you shift?

How long does it stay at 1500?

No, it makes the baby jar pop sound (but not as loud as the baby jar) from the shifter when I shift into gears. I think it might be normal, just need someone to confirm. Z is all stock. It doesn't jerk or feel weird, just a real faint baby jar pop.

If I rev it up, when the rpm's are falling back down to idle, it stops at 1500 rpm's then slowly drops to it's idle between 650-750 rpm's. I think this also might be normal as well.

Was seeing if someone else could confirm these for me.

Normal for the rpm to do that, as for the popping sound I would have to hear it. I dont ever recall hearing a popping sound in my Z..

Ok...so I decided to try turning everything down again, and after doing some more research, I think I know what's wrong. I was wrong about the popping sound coming from shifter, it's coming from the clutch when I depress it. Also, every day that I drive it, it becomes harder and harder to shift into 2nd, and from 2nd to 3rd. Do you think replacing the syncros in the transmission would fix this problem.

I guess, regardless, it's under warranty and I can just take it in. I have an appointment on Tuesday, just hoping nothing happens between now and then.
