ok for about a month my car has been acting weird



the problem-

i was told the car is in safety mod,

anytime i get around 4,000 rpms it feels like im topping the car out

it kinda jumps, it feels like it struggling

my check engine light went on for a few hours , but now it's off

i went to advanced auto and they put a diagnostic reader to it and the first time my car said it wasn't throwing any codes,

i went back the next day and then it said , emissions

so im thinking something might be loose

my extended warrenty just ended too

-a buddy of my mine said it might be due to a dirty 02 sensor


has anyone ever had this problem

i have about 77,000 miles on my car

 

i got it when i put my cai on. Try resetting the ecu ??

or you can unplug the battery for about 10 minutes then come back hook it up and go to town.

ok----

so i did a few things

first i changed my oil

full synthetic pennzoil

i also reset my ecu

then i change my air filter to a k&N air filter

i also used PENNZOIL INJECTOR CLEANER

my car is driving much better

but it's still not driving right

it's still feels like it's struggling


this weekend

im thinking about cleaning my 02 sensors and if that doesnt work ill change my spark plugs

hard to tell based off your description. maybe an injector is clogged, can you tell if the engine is misfiring in a cylinder?

 

it feels like its misfiring but i never had that problem before so i wouldnt know for sure

how can i find out if it's misfiring for sure
