Default car runs weird after installing air intake

Guys,
I installed an after market short ram air intake in my 350z. After installation i noticed the car runs rough. specially on highway speed. I have to press gas pedal more to keep up the speed. Also i noticed that the shift has become jerky too. Should i stick to stock air box?

Yes. I checked for all leaks. MAF was installed properly. I dont get throttle response as good as stock and car jerks at cruising speed

The intake is not suitable for your Z and will adversely effect performance.

so you installed an intake, took davidv's sarcasm, gave up, and never even reset the ecu to let the car learn a little bit?

I unplugged the battery wire during installation. Doesnt it reset ECU? Car was revving up quickly but i felt it was moving slowly compared to stock intake. Engine was roaring like it was getting too much air but wasnt producing any power.

Did you install your MAF sensor correctly? Double check all your connections. Did you left finger/grease marks on the sensor? Post some pics? Pm me if you still having problems. It's not your intake that is causing the problem.

I hate to admit this but I had the intake on the driver's side of my HR motor flipped around. The MAF will only go in one way, but since the pipe was backwards so was the MAF sensor and the car ran exactly the way you're describing. I would try taking the tube off and flipping it around.

I reinstalled stock air box and car runs like champ. I guess there was nothing wrong with aftermarket air intake but after installing air intake i lost little bit of low end torque and engine revved high all the time. I prefer to have low end torque so i will stick to stock for now
