Default can i drill through my key ?

I dropped my keys and the bottom of the key where I attach the key ring to broke off. So I'm wondering if I would be able to drill a hole through the key so I can put a key ring back on it or if anyone has any other ideas Cause I know I'm gonna end up losing my key pretty soon if it's not attached to the rest of my keys. Any help would be great

^^

If you look at the bottom of the plastic part, right next to the key, there is a removable piece of plastic. That's the sensor for the ignition. Just make sure you drill on the opposite side from that. Hit that and it will get expensive.

The key for my '08 doesn't have a "removable piece of plastic" as mentioned in post #3.
