Default Tranny fluids-is there a real difference?

Getting my transmission flushed on my '06 350Z and the shop uses the BG system. According to manual, only use Nissan ATF in tranny, but wondering if just a plug for Nissan products. Shop will probably use the BG fluid, which is pretty much used at most shops around here, including the dealer where I bought the car. Just don't want to drive 60 miles to get service done if it is the same. Any thoughts?

Nissan seems specific in which type to use. Whether its Matic D or J in your car. Then these aftermarket fluids make a general fluid that covers both? I dont understand it. If it were my car Id stick with the Nissan stuff.

Use the recommended fluid, especially for A/T users. When something goes wrong, there's a lot of stuff that get affected inside the tranny and it is no fun to rebuild an AT (financially and physically).

Therefore i'd rather use the factory recommended fluid . . Or at least something that is "J-Matic" equivalent.

Basically, the requirement for using J-Matic comes from the trans manufacturer. They test the fluid and if it's not J-matic, then there's no warranty coverage. Nissan doesn't plan on eating the cost of a trans therefore the requirement.
