Default Problem with 03 touring

My MAF sensor wires shorted out on me a while back and melted the engine harness all the way back to the ECM. I replaced the whole harness and MAF. Now the car starts up fine and idles but it wont rev past 2krpm. Its not throwing a check engine light either. Also none of my gauges are working in my cluster. tach, speedo, temp, fuel, the check engine light dont come on, cruise control wont come on, VDC wont come on, the electric seats move but dont heat, and the AC or fan doesnt come on. The radiator fan comes on and stays on as soon as the car starts. Im thinking that my ECM is burnt up or possibly there is a ground somewhere that is missed but i checked everywhere and cant find anything. any suggestions?

Check all fuses? Including the ones in the engine bay, battery box?

Could be the ECM, could also be the BCM.

i went over every fuse that i could find and they are all good. I think its the ECM. What is a BCM? Im taking the car to the stealership on sat to see if they can run a diagnostic test even though its not throwing a code. where can i find the BCM?

edit, what does the BCM do and is there a test i can do to check if its bad?

Has anyone ever had this problem. Also read that it could be that little white box in the center console, under the radio and behind the ac controls. I have another one on the way. Also was told it could possibly be the IPDM. Does anyone know where this is located or what it looks like?

BCM controls just about everything electric in the car - it's the body control module. It handles lights, wipers, turn signals, windows, seats, door locks, keyless entry. It's tied to IPDM to handle alarm, NATS, head and tail lights. It's like the coordinator of everything electric that the ECU doesn't handle directly.

All my other stuff is working. All my lights, locks, power windows, interior lights, and horn. It's just all the things that move or come on inside the cluster. The back light comes on and the yellow dot that tells you the fuel is low is on.

Look at the sticky thread at the top of the forum and get a copy of the Factory Service Manual for your model year. That will have all the wiring diagrams, pin-outs, etc. that you'll need to trace and debug from.

ok so some good news, it turns out that i somehow missed a fuse and that was the reason for my tach, speedo, fuel and other stuff not working. but i still have a couple of problems. my vdc light and slip light are staying on. also my cruise control button does nothing, the light doesnt even come on. my ecm is still in limp mode. i got another maf sensor but it doesnt do anything different. actually when installed it wont rev at all, but when i unplug it and disconnect the battery a few minutes and restart it, it will rev to 2500. its almost like a launch control. do i have to take the car to a dealership and have the maf put back in and the ecm codes cleared for the car to come out of limp mode? i thought that maybe fixing the problem would bring it out of limp, but still have the SES light on. the car idles fine and starts right up everytime with no trouble. doesnt miss or anything.
