Where did you learn your repair/mechanic skills?
Owned a 92 Integra for a number of years, did ALL my maintenance myself. Even pulled the engine for a complete teardown/rebuild. I had good tools, I'm literate, and had access to a Factory Service Manual. The rest was just patience and going slowly.
It's really not that difficult. Just a matter of following directions exactly as written.

I learned on my own and I agree that for the most its not that difficult it just takes the proper tools as already stated and patience. Patience in researching how to overcome your task beforehand and patience during completion of the task as problems will sometimes arise.
How good are like Nissan master tech's? Are they the gods of the nissan world when it comes to repair/install etc. I always see a guy driving around in an Xterra with Nissan Master Tech. license plate frame.
Means that Nissan took him to school and he has the smarts and passes all the tests, and they don't offer to take just anyone to school. So, maybe not a god, but the guy knows his stuff.
Learned the basics from my Dad and auto shop in high school. After high school i was broke in college so i had to do everything myself. Now, i'm to dam cheap to pay someone else to do what i can do myself.
Also my career path, i'm an aircraft mechanic. Cars are nothing compaired to what i work on daily.

I'm a mechanic in the military so I received training after boot camp. The military has a diverse fleet so we'll work on regular cars and pick ups, to construction and aircraft towing/loading vehicles.
