I have a leak somewhere near the front of the engine. I just wasted 30 bucks on a recharge kit. Do any of those sealer type refrigerants actually stop leaks? Or am I looking at $184.00 for a new AC line? No idea what caused it. I'm not FI, BTW.

 

Bad move.

The sealant is supposed to harden when exposed to air - a crack for example. Thus sealing the crack. Problem is that is will eventually harden INSIDE the radiator or hoses. Now your minor problem is a big headache.

 

yeah, very bad move. don't use those little bottles if you have no refrigerant. get a nice machine that puts in the right amount of oil with the refrigerant (dealership) after you fix the leak.

see if the leak is coming from the rubber ac lines or the hard aluminum ac line. after replacing (make sure you have o ring gaskets) and then bring it in for a professional refill.

 

So it is most likely a blown o ring rather than a hose that randomly blew, right? At what points under the hood are there breaks in the lines where the o rings are? This is my first time touching AC hardware.
