Turn your AC on full blast & make sure both Fans are spinning behind the radiator. I just had my fans replaced.

it could be any number of things

first thing to do is flush the coolant out, replace it with fresh stuff and follow the bleed procedure specified in the factory service manual. From there, keep your eyes on things

read post two. definitely check if the fans go on when they're warmed up and when the a/c is on. also, check if there's any oil in the coolant overflow tank.

It's not your thermostat since your heater system is working. It may be a blown head gasket, since you say your fans do work. Take it to a shop and have them perform a leak down test, this will let you know if you have blown head gaskets.

Change your thermostat. My Saab (daily driver) did the same thing.....changed the thermostat and everything went back to normal.

I had overheating problem just last week. I temperature gage would climb to 3/4 within 15-20 minutes after engine is turned on. I had the thermostat replaced and everything is all good now
