Default What's the minimum volts needed on the battery to start the car?

So I got this Smart Start function on my Viper alarm system where I can get the car to automagically remote start and run for about 45 min. when the battery's voltage drains to a certain level...What's the minimum voltage needed to start the car? Is it 12V?

its not a question of voltage, its a question of amperage. and a dead battery is actually 11.5 volts, even tho you may still be albe to get it to crank.

Well the reason I phrased it that way is because my remote starter manual reads:

"...The vehicle battery voltage is also monitored and if below 10.5 Volts the engine will start. The battery threshold can be changed by an authorized Directed dealer if a higher or lower threshhold is desired..."

Ideally I want this to remote start my car and run for a bit during the week while my car sits in the driveway, what value would I want to set it as the minimum so that it turns on before I can't start at all say during a cold winter morning? I few years ago I read somewhere on these forums that the minimum was 12 volts on the gauge on the center console but I'm not exactly sure...
