Battery Tender and 350Z
Yes - I am one of those guys who puts his 350Z to bed for the winter. Chicago windters and salt make for rusty sports cars. She will soon be put away until the first heavy rain in spring to wash the sale off the roads.
Here is my question - has anyone else ever put a battery tender on a Z?
I have used them for years on my motorcycle and bout a larger on for the car.
I can't seem to get it to recognize a load when connected to the Z battery. I know the Tender is good becasue when I hook it up to my bike it works.
Does the Z have some kind of a reverse ground or some crazy ***** like that?

I had trouble with one from Harbor freight, kept telling me my battery wasnt not a 6v or 12v ( i use optima red top). I bought a different tender and it is charging/tending right now. My horn started going off immediately which may have thrown the HF one off.
if the tender can tell what the battery voltage is it might be sensing that your battery doesnt need charging. mine will switch between charge and standby depending on the battery voltage.
I've been using a BatteryTender Jr for several years. Anytime my car isn't going to be driven for a couple weeks, the BatteryTender is connected. I've never had a problem and my battery is the original and I bought my Z on July 1, 2003.
