For those of you who have used a floor jack in lifting your Z, was there any problem reaching the jacking points with a regular jack, or did you have to use an extended model?
Also, does the Z require the use of one of the low profile floor jacks instead of the standard models?
Thanks. Looking to buy one to use on my car and wanted some tips from those who already use them.

I have a somewhat low floor jack and what I usually do is drive my car up onto a 2x4 piece of wood to allow enough clearance to fit the jack under it. Otherwise the jack will hit the bottom of the car body.
Always use floor jacks when you work underneath the car. Takes one accidental kick to the floor jack and it COULD release and you'd be eyeball to eyeball with anything that's crawling on the floor. Anyone remember the old "bumper jacks" that came with most American made cars back when? They use to "creep" on you if not well positioned. This use to scare the cr*p out of me...4K pounds of steel on your foot.
as long as you have a floor jack that will lower enough to clear the bottom of the car, you should be fine. What you really need are these blocks, or something similar, which will allow you to straddle the jack points

I bought one of these:

from Sears. It has a 21" lift (for SUVs). It fit under fine on a flat garage floor.

We bought a lightweight aluminum low profile jack. U S General (made in China). I can't remember where I ordered it from. Many autocrossers use them. They're a cheaper version of the higher quality american lightweight jacks.
I also made little ramps from 2 x 10's which I cut at an angle and stacked so that I can drive up and lift the front wheels 4" off the ground. I don't need a jack to change the oil/filter.
With the ramps, our old Sears standard floor jack works.
I'm guessing that ZilvahZ means 'jack stands' instead of 'floor jack' when working under the car. One should never get under a car when it is supported only by the jack.
