Thumbs down Help my auto gear box wont move...

I tried many different ways to shift the gear... but it wont move from P ///

No luck so far ..

any ideas ? engine starts fine..

kindly help ,,,

have you tried to fiddle with the "shift lock" ? it's right next to the lever

the rod on occasion will fall off the valve body, or get stuck there, either ways you have to drop the pan and look at it

The owner's manual will tell you how to use a screwdriver to unlock the shifter as mentioned in post #4 above.

The problem could be caused by a bad brake switch, but that's easy to rule out by checking the brake lights. It could also be the solenoid that locks the shifter or a wiring issue.
