Default Hit and run, now im screwed...

I was wondering if anyone knows what would be the cheapest route to fix my front quarter panel. i was on the highway and some idiot came into my lane and hit the front drivers side of my 350. My insurance has a 2,000$ deductible (the only way i can afford my insurance given im 19 yrs. old) i would really appreciate any help! thanks!!!

^^What he said(I didn't even know there was an option over $1k). You couldn't get the license plate/car description of the offender? If someone nailed me and I could still drive I'd run them down for sure.

Btw pic is too small and no details given on extent of damage buuuuut it should be a relatively cheap fix. You sure there's no suspension/headlight/bumper cover damage as well?

^ +1 Kinda defeats the purpose for insurance if you have to that much out of pocket.

Just took the whole fender off (pain in the ***), im going to have to get a new one.. found a place selling them for 150$, just going to have to get it painted later i guess.
And yes my insurance is pretty pointless to be honest.

all the other pictures i tried to attach told me they were to large, sorry about that...

Is this an uninsured motorist claim ?
And your deductible for an uninsured claim is?

Last I heard (at least in CA) Un-insured motorist claims are deductable-free. Some Cali law. Double-check your state is or is not the same.

The fenders aren't such a pain once you've removed and replaced them several times (personal experience). When you reinstall the new one, be sure that you watch the tab near the back of it and the corner near the headlight. Spending an extra 5-10 minutes(if that) making absolutely sure those won't scratch your door/light will greatly pay off once you're done. Also make sure the top tab near the headlight goes *under* the headlight support; not over it.

Some things I learned myself...some things I learned from having a retard install my lambo doors.

Since we're playing the insurance game: 23, spotless, $85 a month with $0 comp/$100 coll.

fenders r only $200 at nissan. if ur bumper is mest up look on the private classifieds on this site or another 1 they are always selling stock bumpers. if headlight is mest up try buffing it if it has a scuff if cant look at aftermarket headlights some or really cheap. at nissan hid headlights are $800. good luck.

Also one other thing, even if your company forces a deductable, they will generally take that from the settlement/repair costs, which is probably better than not filing a claim. For example, $3000 in damage will get you a $1000 check with the deductable withdrawn. Also, if your going from memory, Uninsured motorist coverage is generally a different deductable than your other deductables. Really, check with your insurance company.

If more than your fender is damaged I would file a uninsured motorist claim with your insurance stating what you said, someone hit you, your deductible shouldn't be more than 250 and it should effect your mo premium either.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage and Underinsured Motorist Coverage for each state:

great advice.. those tabs are like nasty razor blades that love to scratch stuff.

make it easy and pull the3 wheel so you can really peel back the fender liner and its basic 10mm socket the whole way. 20 min r/r.

Not everyone has a stellar driving record. Most ppl who've made sacrafices on coverage to maintain affordability have little choice in their budget. Life's a b#tch these days...those of us who bought brand new did so in the peak of the boom economy too...
