Strange vibration once in a while
Hey guys, Recently bought an 03' touring now with 71K on the odometer. Got a JWT intake, Skunk2 plenum spacer, Invidia N1 exhaust with AAM Y-pipe, Hotchkis lowering springs and MB Weapons 18"x8 in front with 225 45 and 18x9 rear with 245 45.
A couple days ago on my 80 mile drive one way to work going about 75-80mph my Z felt like it was riding over an unpaved road for about a minute or so, I'd say half way through the ride. It went away and didn't happen again the rest of the way. On the way home it happened twice at different intervals and at about the same speed. Also happened yesterday but in different areas of the road .
Today I decided I would drive a bit slower on the way home to see in there was a difference, there sure was, I felt like it was about to start getting rough but it went away, Very strange. I went to my mechanic to see what he thought but he had no idea.
I'm actually a mechanic in the Army but our civilian vehicles are so different than the heavy stuff I work on that I really don't know what it could be. I thought tire balance but it would last the whole ride right? Maybe wheel bearings, but car doesn't hum at all.
My rotors are worn pretty bad and new ones are currently in the mail right now and I hope thats the issue. Anyone ever ran into this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem on my old car. it would vibrate then stop at random times and I too thought maybe the tires were out of balance but it turns out that I had a broken u-joint that would still catch and move the car but it would slip out of line sometimes and cause the vibrations. Might wanna check those out.

you didnt mention if it came during deceleration or jsut while cruising..
i know my transmission mount ( by shifter) rumbled like hell before i replaced it recently... was very off and on as well. Lots of NVH noise from it.
at least u got some places to start looking now.
