about maintenance - this is illogical to me!
I went in for feathering and service as well as NNA told me i had 2 strikes against me. i was over 12000 and i missed the 7500 mile check up!
Now this is what gets me
the 7500 check up and 15000 service cost about 200 bux a pop. not included in warrenty. BUT... if you do not do these maintenance calls they can refuse to do warrenty work. So in addition to my payment for a 7 yr 75k warrenty i have to spend 200 bux on service every 3 months. I drive alot! average 27-30 k a year!
I change my own oil and check my own levels and do walk arounds and such! but because i am not a certified mechanic it doesn't count. I can understand some things like relubing (i can do if i want) and suspension checks and such but come on!
there is NO way i am paying an additional 1000 dollars a year on this car for something that should be covered in the warrenty to begin with!

i think maybe the dealer was screwing with you? comeon, some of us do our own maintence. what does the 7500 mile check up include? but i agree. i dont see myself paying 30-40 bucks for an oil change. i can do it myself faster and for about $5-10 depending on what oil i put in

By federal LAW a car company can NOT require that you have them do the maintenance on your car. However, they CAN tell you what the minimum maintenance requirement is and they can refuse to honor your warranty if the work was not done.
You can go to any (cheaper) garage or you can do the work yourself. Just be sure to keep the receipt from the mechanic, or your receipts from the required maintenance parts. (it helps to keep a log)

yea, i know. most services (especially that early) are
rotate tires
oil change
check air filter
check belts
vehicle inspection
later on they start doing the random stuff, such as flushing the coolant, blah blah blah
personally, i do my own work. when i feel it is time to do something, i do it. not based on the service manual (i do use it for a rough estimate though)
this is the schedule i had for my mr2's (varied a little depending on how i drove it)
Oil and filter: 1500-2000 miles
tranny fluid (royal purple): 3000-5000 miles, less if i was racing more
airfilter: when i did the oil, K and N recharger kit
rotated the tires: never, staggered sizes like the Z
brakes and brake fluid: pads yearly (before each new autocross season) and brake fuild when i did that as well
coolant was every 6 months to a year, again depending on coniditions
but for all the other random stuff, you just do it when you think it needs to be done. I inspected the car before and after every race, and when you have a car for a couple of years, you just learn which parts wear, at what rate, and what to look for.
i still think that is BS about the warranty stuff, but i guess i can understand, otherwise people would just driver thier car without ever getting anything done, and when the engine dies, try and get a new one, ect ect

The minimum maintainance charge at my dealer was around $28. (oil + filter). We are allowed to do our own maintainance so long as we have some kind of back up proof--bill of sale for parts & oil.

The 12000mile is probably the main reason for denying your claim. Nissan has been relying on that for a while now. If pushed they tend to give in.
Also, does the 7500mile service have anything that would affect the tires? IIRC, no. So, why would that part of the warranty be voided for missing it.
