i've got some good news about the tire feathering
I just got off the phone with Jamie from NNA. She called to schedule time that i can drop my car off at my local dealer. I thought this was a little odd. Then she went on to say that a couple of techs from Japan are comming here to look at my car. I guess they are calling a select numbers of cars and sending the techs out to look at them. We talked for a little while about the issues with the tire feathering, and she seemed quite aware of the problem. She also drives a Z and is having the same problems i guess. Also, she does browse the various 350z sites and looks at what people are saying. She say's that Nissan is taking this very seriously and wants to do what ever it takes to get this problem resolved. Only thing i can say is "took ya long enough." But i guess these things take time. She asked if i had done anything to correct the problem yet. I told her i have not. I decided that i was going to live with this problem untill Nissan could come up with an explination or a fix. I guess it paid off. They are very interested in looking at my car.
I also took this oportunity to ask about the transimission issues. She said that just in the last few days or today (can't quite remember) they released the info to the dealers. Aparently NNA is fully aware of the transmission problems and has corrected what they believe to be the issue with the 2004 trannys, and some of the 2003's. She said that i should just bring it up when i go in on the 17th to have the techs look at the car. And that there shouldnt be a problem and the tranny should be replaced with the current fixed version.
All in all this was a very uplifting call. I am very excited to see Nissan taking the nessisary steps to try and make sure everyone is happy. I did mention that i was missing a couple of parts. It seems im missing a couple of turbos, an intercooler, a remapped ECU and some various parts.
She said when she gets a twin turbo from the factory on her Z, then i can get mine.
We'll see how it all goes on the 17th. I plan to stick around and see what they do to diagnose and correct the problem. Nissan's customer support just went up a few points in my book. We'll see if they stay that way.

Thanks Dr. Cold. This is indeed grat news!!!!!
Jeff, could you please verify the informtation on the transmission? I don't want to waste your time or mine if the "new" revision isn't available yet, etc. If all works out, I will be visiting you soon!
Thanks,
Stu E.

Thanks for the good news, Dr Cold. I just had my initial front tire TSB work done and was ready to press for a new tranny. What is the build date of your Z? Mine is 11/02 just curios about the "corrected some 2003's". Thanks again for keeping the rest of us informed. I hope all goes well on your service date.
Mine is 02/03. And i seem to have all the issues everyone else is having. I think what she ment about correcting some of the 2003's is the ones right near the end of production. Seems my car just missed it then.
I am still a little skeptical about all of this, but we'll see. I think they are mostly just trying to gather information on what is going on. I just wish i knew how they picked my name out of the hat. Looks like big brother Nissan is watching.

So you didn't contact Nissan at all about the tire issue? They just contacted you out of the blue? If that's the case, that does seem a little BigBrother-ish but maybe has something to do with your VIN/build date and the region you live??
