Hi guys,

I tried to do a search but couldn't figure out the proper terms for this.

I drove to work this morning and it was a bit chilly out so I turned the heat on, went into work, came out after my shift and went to turn the heat completely off but when I do, it's like the car thinks I've turned the **** all the way to the max?

No matter what circulation setting I choose, and also doesn't matter what temperature I set it to, when set to OFF, the fans start blowing at max. Tried to turn the car off and then on again as well but the same thing keeps happening. Any idea on what could have happened in those few hours I went to work?

EDIT: Also, thought I'd mention, if I leave the **** on the lowest setting (just after AUTO), I get the appropriate amount of air coming through, this only happens when I have the **** set to OFF.

Replace your blower motor resistor.

 

Sounds like the switch is still in "auto" when it's pointing to "off".

 

Hey guys, just thought I'd update this post in case anyone else has this issue.

I found another thread where the poster had the same kind of issue as me (works fine in the morning, few hours later it's acting up like this), and what he did was just unplug the white ribbon cable from the back of the climate control unit and spray with some electronic cleaner.

I ended up doing this today and so far my issue seems to be resolved! Hopefully it doesn't come back again but for now I'm happy.
