Default 2003 350z dies when I start it.

03 350z 6spd with 100k

I just bought the car..
The issue is when I initially start the car in the mornings, the idle will suddenly drop to zero and the car will die.. BUT If I give it a little gas when I start it, it will idle normal and be fine.

The car has no performance issues at all. It runs GREAT. It idles good, nothing else seems to be wrong..

Any suggestions?

Any Mods? Such as a plenum spacer or something? This sounds a lot like a vacuum leak.

Change the battery or check the connections to the batter. Could be a little loose. Also if your CEL light is on and it's giving you the 1283 code it's ur 02sensor, that is what was causing mine to shut off when starting. Check those few things. If those aren't it I would go with what fairladyinit said and check for vacuum leaks. GOOD LUCK

I had this issue. I checked for vacuum leaks, checked the battery, checked ignition, etc. Couldn't figure it out. One day, while cleaning the car, I popped the hood to clean underneath. Decided to pull my filter and clean it. Being a K&N I thought maybe I got some crud on the MAF sensor, so I cleaned it too. Still had the stalling at start up issue. So I moved further up the intake tract. Next stop was the throttle body. I looked at it and it had a ton of crud built up in it around the butterfly valve. I opened it manually and cleaned the throttle body and valve thoroughly. Problem solved.

issue is still there.. it will start up and die.. but if i give it a little gas, it will idle out smoothly... sometimes, it will just crank and not even start...

battery is fine, no vaccume leaks.. im lost!

The car runs great no power loss.. no other issues..
