Default People with 15K Mi Plus with NO Feather, POST

I started the post earlier of people with 5K plus, but if you have 15K plus on your car with no signs of feathering, please post here!! If there is anyone out there with 15K plus and no feather, I have to believe the problem must be fixable (as some cars don't have the problem).

Initially, I had bad feathering. The factory switched out my fronts for free. Reset the toe-in. I have 3k miles on new tires, no problems.

Currently i have 27k

Had feathering first 9,000 miles, got TSB an alignment. Now have ~22,000 miles on Toyo TS-1 tires & nismo suspension mods. So I guess around 13K miles on my toyo's with no feathering (knocking on wood!)

So far, no replys from anyone with 15K and no feathering... interesting...
although, if I read SilverStoneTrack350z's post correctly, he got 24K on his first set of tires before feathering occurred??

The suspension change you made at 4K could have been the reason.

I've also noticed people with the Nismo Coilovers also do not seem to have feathering. I am going to buy a set for sure when I get my car and my 12,000 miles are up. It's just sad that people may have to invest another $1500+ in coilovers to fix their feathering problem.

Be prepared for the possibility of other problems. Surf the repairing section and see which ones are common (Trans, windows, rattles, rattles and more rattles.)

Just hit 15k on my stock tires and no feathering problems. But i'm in a Silverstone enthusiast with stock 17".

The guys over at Performance Nissan just swap the tires i believe each time i take it in for service/oil change from left to right.

Didn't do any specific mods to the car, so can't help you guys there.

I had feathering. Don't remember the exact miles. The dealer had all tires replaced and the toe reset. A Nissan rep came to the dealership. Now I have a service engine light that flashes on in sixth gear on the highway. This doesn't happen all the time. I will lose power when it occurs.

Initially had severe feathering with noise. TSB performed and NNA replaced front tires at 18,000. Toe-in was adjusted. Currently have 4,000+ miles on replacement tires. No problems!

16000 miles and no feathering, at least not that I can tell. There is a lot of tire rumble now and of course some really annoying dash rattles. Oh, and the left window creak, but other than that, the car is going fine.

After 8k miles the Bstones were very noisy and I replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I had the wheels aligned the next day and 7 of the 14 measurements were out of spec. I had to replace the rear tires after 9k more miles, the center tread was gone, but the fronts are getting good wear.

None of my tires have shown any signs of feathering, all wear has been even.

Hey, I garaged my Z on Dec. 7th for the winter just shy of 14,000 miles (I know you said 15) and I have NO signs of feathering what-so-ever. I have never experienced any road noise on acceleration or braking. I have a very early 2003 Z, VIN 4,xxx with a build date of Sept. 02. I have the stock tires on the stock 17's. It was delivered on March 1, 2003 and driven everyday. I put on 14,000 miles in 9 months. When it was originally delievered I had asked for a wheel alignment...they said ok....but in all the excitiment I forgot to ask for the paperwork.

Everything is a.o.k! I can provide more info. if you need it. Luck I guess.

I've got 14K miles and the feather was resolved with Alignment, Free front tires, and Larger rear tires.

I have about 4K miles on the new setup and no feathering showing.

I just hope my 3rd trans holds up.
