hes another trivia/mystery for the z gods. when im driving at random times the throttle cuts out and the rpm's fall, once i let off the gas and then re apply it it kicks back inbut my VDC and SLIP lights turn on and wont turn off untill i turn my var off then back on. also when im coasting to a stop and throw it into neutral the rpm's will drop all the way to a stall intead of idle. anybody got anything?? my cheak engine light has been on for a while but i havent gottes aroung to fixing that, i believe its for the O2 sensors.

 

Have you checked you air filter? could be getting too much(filter could have come off) /too little air(dirty air filter suffocating the engine)..

 

i have a aem intake and its fairly clean, ive only had it for like 4 months

 

there is a recall on the crank position sensor...search the forum in this site...type in CRANK POSITION SENSOR *RECALL* and you should be able to get to a link to check your recall status. On the post from Phile he gives VIN #s that are covered.

The recall applies to 2003 350Z with the following Vehicle Identification Number range:
JN1AZ*4**3T 000001 - 100167

It's possible that the stalling/throttle cut-off could be resulting from a bad o2 sensor so I would definitely look into replacing that first and foremost before you consider any other possibility.

Also, how dirty is your IACV? Have you checked the condition of your EGR valve recently?

 

Check your codes, and fix that problem. I am absolutely amazed at how many people post up saying "The light on my dash is telling me my cars broken, but I'm way too cool to have the code checked... What's wrong with my car?"
