I have just bought a new battery so that cant be it. I checked all connectors and they seem to be clean. I disconnected most of the connectors on the radiator support and engine and it still happens. Check the wire going to the starter. If it's connected to the wrong terminal or shorted to ground somewhere, it would cause arcing when you try to connect the battery. Everything else goes through fuses that would blow if the circuit is shorted. The starter is on a fusible link that will carry much more current.

I disconected the alternator completely and it doesnt do it anymore. Does this mean the alternator is bad or the wires?

Make sure you have the big ground connected correctly from the chassis to the alternator then to the starter.
