Default A/C not working

I noticed that my 2005, 66k, 350Z A/C wasn't working. So I bought the Freon recharging kit. I hooked it up and the pressure read HIGH. So I started looking around and found this - no longer installed.

What do you think I should do? I'd hate to replace just the clutch and have it be something else.

As in it came off on it's own?

Have your AC compressor replaced. Then have the AC charged, and not with those stupid cheap cans! Have it professionally done. I've seen those cans ruin AC systems cause the system is supposed to hold a certain amount of freon, you don't know how much to inject when you use those stupid things. With the machines you can enter in exactly how much freon to use, found on the underhood AC label.

It's probably a special bolt you'll have to get from a dealer, wrecking yard, or knowledgeable AC shop. Do that, and see if the compressor still works, which it probably will.

Hopefully you didn't mess up the system when you connected the charge cans.

There's a chance the bolt broke instead of just coming out. If that's the case, you'll have to take the compressor off to fix it. That's a job for an advanced DIYer or a good shop.

Thanks, I will try that first. I've removed broken bolts before so if it is not too bad I should be able to get it.
