Blown 30amp fuse
I had a Black and Decker battery tender which I've used on the car for over 2years. No problems until about 3 weeks ago. The device evidently broke and fried a 30 amp fuse on my after market racing fans. It could have been a power surge or the device just gave out. Not realizing that this happened, I drove the car. Everything was fine until I stopped at a car show and then left. The car's temperature guage started to go up rapidly.
It would be fine with the a/c off and the car moving.
In any event, the dealer fixed the problem at a very reasonable price. The car runs fine now. I am done with battery tenders. I could have fried the entire electrical system in the car.

I don't understand how the battery tender fried a fuse for the fans. Assuming you had the BT connected to the battery when the car was parked, there would have been no way current could have been applied to the fan circuit. I'd say the failures were unrelated.
