Default Voltmeter not working on 03??

i recently did the cubby nav install and everything was working fine. then i took apart the dash to change the maps on the sd card. after i started it again, the voltmeter wasnt working. the other two pods work fine so i know it cant be a connection issue. i took everything apart and reconnected it and the same issue. the voltmeter wont even move off of the bar below the 8. however, when i connected a battery charger to the battery i still had ~100%. so then i thought it might be something caused by the alternator so i tested the alternator and its fine. any ideas what would cause the voltmeter to stop working but not the other pods and how to fix it? does the volt meter have a different fuse than the other 2 that could lead to the problem?? thanks

According to the '08 service manual section DI, the voltmeter is wired directly to the CPU in the triple meter assembly. There is no separate fuse for the voltmeter. There are several connectors supplying various inputs to the assembly, so you must have disturbed one of them while doing other stuff nearby.

The battery wasn't holding a charge either. I went to start the car today and it wouldnt start (charged the battery twice and it wouldnt hold). I just bought a new battery and the voltmeter still isn't showing anything. Any other ideas? I checked the connector for the gauges and everything was fine. Considering the battery issues could the problem be somewhere else?
