Default unusual problem.. car won't start.

so i've been having this problem on and off now for about 6 months but recently its gotten extremely consistent. i can't even drive my car and shut it off without worrying that i will be stuck where ever it is i'm at.

before i replaced my battery, which i found out was almost completely useless except that the battery happened to be the wrong battery for my car (previous owner), on occasions i would try to start my car and it would refuse to start. all the accessories would come on, i would have full volts, but when i turned the key nothing would happen expect it would reboot all my accessories like usual after turning the key to ignite the engine.

replaced the battery about a month ago now but the problem persists and has actually started to occur more often. its gotten to the point where i cannot even drive my car because i'll end up getting stuck there.

its almost as though the clutch isn't being pushed in enough to read that it is engaged in order to start the car because the same things occur that would occur had i not pushed in my clutch. very odd.

i search on the forum for people who have experienced this but haven't had luck finding something similar to what is occurring with my car. would be very gracious if someone could point me in the right direction. i'm currently unemployed and don't really have the money to take it to the stealership. i'm sure i'll end up dropping almost $200 just for a diagnosis.

btw its a 06' base. thanks.

Check for proper contact between clutch pedal and switch. If ok, disconnect clutch pedal switch, consult wiring diagram and use paper clip to complete circuit. If car starts, replace switch. If car does not start, bigger problem.

You can guess, starter for example, or you can have a diagnostics done to pinpoint the problem. What seems like a money saver, guessing, can get expense.
