Default clutch or slave cylinder?.... or what?...

hey everyone, im kinda stumped on a situtation that goin on with my 05 Z. i went to a drift event the other day and about 3/4 the way thru the event i noticed my clutch pedal was gettin alil stiff and it was engaging alot quicker than normal. but other than that it acted fine thru the event. when heading home i had to stop at a toll booth and noticed that it didnt really wanna go into first very easily but she went. and when i got home she wasnt havin any gear changin at all.
i checked the clutch fluid and were good, i can change gears in the car when the car is off easier and the car doesnt lunge forward when i start it in a gear with the ebrake down. the clutch pedal now has less travel when pushing it down.
i thought maybe the slave cylinder so checked to see if it moved whenever the clutch pedal was pushed and it moves, however the little arm that comes out of the side of the tranny doesnt really sit at a 90 degree angle like it seems it should and the black rectangular piece that surrounds the opening where the little arm comes out has about a half inch play when the arm moves back and forth as well. is this a normal thing?
theres no clutch fluid leaking from anywhere and the slave cylinder seems to move ok but theres just a small part of me that doesnt want to believe that its the clutch so i was lookin for some extra input.
if anyone has any thoughts or advice or similar experiences please fill me in

thanks everyone for your time

You may have boiled the fluid, but I doubt it.

I thought about something along those lines too, so I checked to see if there were any melted lines or anything like that leading to the slave cylinder. All looks to be fine and the slave cylinder moves pretty well back and forth but honestly I've never seen one move to compare it to

How long has it been since the fluid change. I would just try some quality DOT 4 fluid and bleed the line. Cheap and easy diagnostics along with using wd40 on the clutch pedal assembly. If that still does not work then I would try the slave cylinder since the part is pretty cheap like less than $30 and stay tuned for my coupon thread to save major $$$.

I personly havent changed it, I'll give it a shot though. Anything else I need to upgrade if I go with aftermarket clutch if that's the problem? IvE heard if ya don't upgrade the slave and the master cylinder the aftermarket clutch won't last long

I am not sure about changing out the slave and master that might be unnecessary but research into it. First change out the fluid and use wd40 on the pedal. I have no idea what options you have for aftermarket upgraded master/slave. If the fluid does not solve the issue and you want to get a new clutch I would just use the JWT deal the have and call it a day. Make sure to change out throwout bearing, use CHROMOLY pivot bolt, Flush / bleed with Dot 4. Keep in mind you need to go easy on the clutch to break it in for a short period of time.

YOUR DIAGNOSIS SHOULD GO AS FOLLOWS in this order:

Change Clutch FLuid
Replace Slave Cylinder
Replace Master Cylinder
Replace Clutch Line
CLutch/flywheel job

$775 Shipped ground!!! So you get the jwt-clutch,flywheel, Clutch Line, Pivot Ball, and Nismo Roller bearing all for FREE!!!

welp i feel like that its been confirmed that the clutch is done, this morning i was sitting in the car seeing if it would change gears with the clutch pedal pressed in and suprisingly they changed pretty smooth. so i pushed my luck , stuck it first, cranked er over and then she lunged forward pretty hard even with the e-brake up. last time i experienced something like that my clutch was destroyed, and i cant think that anything else would cause that

well im bringing my thread up again because i feel as if im still having an issue,i replaced the clutch & flywheel, throw out bearing, slave cylinder, stainless clutch line, put dot 4 fluid in just incase i take it out and give her hell again. the car ;moves around like normal now but my concern is that in the morning after sitting all night, it still doesnt like to go into gear immediately, i have to let the car warm up for like 5-10 minutes, then after about 2 minutes of driving all is beautiful. im trying to figure out what the heck is goin on here before i start having to replacing or re-replacing more parts. any info is greatly appreciated everyone, thanks again

Did you change fluid type/viscosity while the transmission was down?

Yea, I had bought some MT fluid from Nissan but I didn't buy enough so I didn't wanna fix it so I bought some from an auto parts store since they were the only place open. And yea I did notice the viscosities were alil different bit I figured that was better than mixing 2 types of fluids

Can anyone chime in with the OEM recommended viscosity? My memory sucks.

Not a huge difference. My first instinct was that the fluid was too thick until warmed up/thinned out. I'll have to ponder on this one. The fact that it operates fine once warm is strange.

My thoughts exactly, it even at first today wanted to creep forward with the clutch pedal to the floor while it was in first.
