***URGENT*** Shifter popped out of gear!
So I was driving down the road to work when all of a sudden my shifter just what seemed like popped out of gear as i was trying to shift to second.
I quickly decided to drive my car into the nearest parking lot while the car still had momentum and now my car is sitting at the traffic court parking lot.
I can't engage into any gear. The shifter moves around like i'm pushing it down to go into reverse. I can't even go into reverse.
Its the OEM shifter with just an aftermarket shift ****. Funny thing is, I have the TWM short shifter coming in tomm.
But does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hmmmmm i had a similar thing happen to me in another car that I used to have but mine got locked into 5th gear vise not being able to engage any gear... only thing that I could think of would be maybe a syncro or something...
i'm in a debate whether i should take this to a local reputable shop or to nissan.
Thing is, i have the extended warranty but not sure if this would be covered by nissan.
any suggestions?

quick and easy thing to check
pop open the shifter surround, remove the 4 10mm nuts that hold the metal plate and larger rubber surround, and then remove the smaller rubber boot that surrounds the base of the lever - see if the linkage is still bolted to the shifter - it's a single nut/bolt, I want to say 12mm
if that's not it, it will require more careful inspection by a shop
