Ok for some reason my passengers cannot for the life of them
Open up my door when it is actually unlocked. They always open it as I am unlocking it and the lock makes a grinding noise. Is this ok or will it lead to future issues with the door locking? Maybe this is this my OCD Z owner coming out but it just really irritates me.

 

Problems with drivers door are 50 times more probable than problems with passenger door: less use less abuse. WD-40 will hide but not fix the problem.

 

The WD stands for Water Displacer. It's the BEST at attacting dirt to ensure future part failure. Use it for cleaning and drying out old ignition systems only.

 

I've been using WD 40 as a lube and cleaner for years. Never had an issue with it....

As for solving your problem OP, use your remote to open the doors 5 seconds earlier, and you'll be fine

 

For the door lock mechanism, either use a dry graphite lubricant or Boeshield T-9 (you can find it at bike shops). They both do a MUCH better job than WD-40 and won't attract gunk.
