Default Car Rollin over slow or not at all ?

My car has been doing this forever. I put a brand new battery in it and it rolls over super slow. I went to start it today and with the key held on it rolled ad stopped and rolled then stopped then started but it took the car a bunch of tries with the key before it would even try to start. The car had power I turnt the headlights on ad tried te key and nothing dimmed down.

Where are the grounds all located and is there a starter relay somewhere?

If it's turning over slow with a new battery, then the next logical thing to look at it the starter itself.

Could it be a ground or a stater relay? Will a starter off an 05 automatic for my 04.5 6speed it should be the same shouldn't it?

Of course those could be the problem too. Starters should be the same but you better check with a dealer parts department to be sure.

You didn't get a used or lightweight battery, did you?

Had a similar situation recently.

Try jumping it with another car. If it turns over normally, then your battery needs replacement.

If it still turns over slow, check out your grounds. If they're good and problem still exists, the starter is your next step. Pull it and get it tested.

i hear the alternator ground and starter power wire on the 350z are pathetic.. it wont be your relay as thats either off or on and is a low votlage trigger to a larger wire.. again, which sounds like its not doing the job.

Lift car, follow wires.

Check the connections on the starter itself and on the large ground cable from the battery to the engine.

Ok I will check my grounds I went out last night ad kicked te clutch pedal down hard and it has never rolled over faster it work everytime I did it. But if that clutch saftey switch was bad it woul either roll or not wouldn't it that shouldn't cause it to roll slow

The clutch safety switch provides a path for current flowing through the coil of the starter relay in the IPDM. It's very little current (about 1/2 amp, if that), since the relay in the IPDM only controls the current (about 4 amps) to the coil in the starter solenoid. The high current (100+ amps) to the starter motor goes through the contacts of the starter solenoid.

So, pressing down hard on the clutch really shouldn't have much effect. However, since it seems to make a difference, try adjusting the position of the safety switch so it closes a little sooner as the pedal is depressed. It's held in place on the bracket with two nuts, so it's pretty easy to adjust.

Is it just right behind the clutch pedal?

It's at the bottom of the pedal bracket toward the front of the car.

The switch toward the driver is for the speed control.

Ok I found the switch but I don't think that Is the problem I had somebody else listen to it an they said sounds like the starter itself is worn. Does anybody know where or if you can get a rebuild kit I can't find one anywhere the cheapest starter I have found I 160 but I want to keey the original and rebuild it so it puts the price up in the 300's

Wait a minute. I thought you just said it worked OK when you pressed the pedal down really hard.

Yeah, that's what you said right here:

"....I went out last night ad kicked te clutch pedal down hard and it has never rolled over faster it work everytime I did it."

That kinda rules out the starter. At least until you move the switch a little to see if that's gonna help.

Lol yes I did but it only started good three times. So I got right down and depressed the pedal with my hand ad it fully pushes the pin on the sworn in so it needs no adjustment I'm goig to check the grounds I need to check the alternator ground and the starter ground then if they are good I'm going to replace the starter
