Windows down
Wondering if anyone else has seen this and what might be wrong. I went over to a friends and locked my car, when I came out 3 hours later both my drivers and passengers window were half way down. The first thing I thought was someone broke in, but then realized nothing was missing so that could not be the case. And even if that was the case the car power would need to be on in order to roll the windows down. Both windows seem to work fine right now, but it's got me very perplexed. Any ideas or suggestions?
You could have been close to your car and perhaps sat on your keys which activated the unlock button for a couple of seconds. Another thing that could have is that if you turn your Z off and activate the auto.up on both or one window switch the windows go up with out the key in ignition you can do this for only a couple of seconds after to work if not they only go halfways/not all the way and if you open the door too soon it will also stop. When I drive with the windows down and I get somewhere I do this to get out of the car quick I guess. Anyways you could have been driving with the windows down and activated the window switches got out quick and opened the car too soon and the windows had not been up all the way.

It is winter here, windows were not down when I was driving, so I did not need to roll them up, I would have noticed when I went around to the other door to get out my laundry as well if they were still down.
Same issue. 2003 Performance edition with 20k miles. It happened, and I did a double-take. Opened my car, rolled it up. Closed the door, and it happened again. Today it stayed rolled up, but I simply opened and closed the door later to check, and it went down again. Definitely a warranty issue. I'll post again with the result.
I had this happen to me. It is nothing more then an early warning sign that your window motor is going to die within 4-5 months.
What happens is this: when you open your doors to exit, it drops them the half inch so as to not cause compression when you shut your door; the problem is when you shut your door, the motor struggles to put the window back up that half inch and thinks there is something blocking it... (like someones finger). The saftey mechinism kicks in and the window goes down half way.
Save up some money, those windo motors are expensive, or better yet, if you are near warranty expiration, take it in NOW!!

Final results. I took my car in. They replaced the switch apparently, but then discovered that in fact it WAS the motor, so they replaced it too. It performs correctly now. Before it was replaced I did notice the motor was getting sluggish, etc. Glad it's taken care of. Good luck to anyone else with this problem!
