Mystery Problem
Hey, I just recently purchased my 350z used and inherited several problems. I've taken it to multiple mechanics who all recited the same code - a crankshaft position sensor malfunction. The symptoms started when I was driving and the RPMs dropped to 0 momentarily and then returned; I came back to the car after having parked it for an hour or so and it wouldn't start. I had the crank sensor replaced twice (the first considered to be a faulty part) and it starts, and drives but there are still issues. The car red-lines at about 4500 RPMs now, there is a clearly audible scratching noise when hitting about 3000 RPMs, the car jerks several times after releasing the gas pedal, and yet the only code popping up is still the crankshaft O_o... If someone could help out that'd be GREATLY appreciated, I know very little about cars!

Not necessarily, I've had some friends look specifically at the clutch, with fiber optics, and concentrated test drives by transmission experts; the only problem (although pretty significant) was that the pressure plate was missing small pieces on the outside, but I don't understand how that would cause it to red-line early?
Also: Whenever it hits the 4500 RPM mark the VDC and SLIP warning lights flash and stay on til I turn off and restart the car.

i got the the codes checked and it was p0011 and p0021 and p0335. one of the things that i found for the IVT codes was most commonly caused by low oil. i checked it and it had like a quart of oil in it. i dont know how the shop that did the crank sensor swap missed that but whatever. so i did and oil change and disconected my batery and the codes are now gone but it still hits the rev limiter at 4.5k i must say it runs real nice up until that point but idk? another thing i found was people with this sort of issue all had recently replaced their clutches and mine was replaced (poorly) before i got it. i checked the connections on the sensors on the trans and MAF. any ideas?
