350z starting
I just purchased a 2003 350z with 93,000 miles. The previous owner told me that on a couple of occasions it would turn over but would not start. It happened to me for the first time yesterday.I started it cold and drove it 2 miles to gas station and filled it up.When I tried to start it it spun over very good but would not start.I sat there a few seconds and tried again with same results.I waited a few seconds more, put key back into ignition turn on but I paused before I tried the starter, and then it started up.I am a fair mechanic and do all my own work, but these kind of intermit.problems are the worst to find.I would appreciate any help or suggestions I could get.

+1 happens to a buddy with an '03 Track and dealer says it is probably that. Pretty sure that pulling the key and starting over resets the NATS. Expensive repair from what I have heard. Assume you are not throwing a SES light?
I lost my key and fob to my car(07 350Z). I got my spare key programmed(bought it a long time ago and just had it cut).
The next morning the car would not start. It fired up after a couple attempts.
After some reading I started to turn the key to the on position and let it beep 3 times before firing the engine, no starting issues since...........

I agree, most likely the transponder chip not being read. I've had it happen a couple times before.. Sometimes the chip gets dirt and crap in it from being in your pocket, so clean it out and try again.
