Default Airbag light after Sparco wheel install

OK, I'm gonna try to hit all aspects of this. About a year ago, i installed a Sparco wheel. Detatched the negative battery cable before i started. About 3 mos later, airbag light. So i did the reset. 3 mos after, light/reset.

This continued on until a week ago where i had enough of it. I took my wheel off and i sourced the issue; the wire from the wheel harness is bendable, and the prongs on the bypass wires are thicker material, which prevented them from wrapping-up with the other wires. (aka, occasional non-contact between airbag wires and bypass)

So, i cut the course prongs off the bypasses down to where it was bendable wire and twist-tied the wires together, then heat-shrank them. After finishing, i noticed the airbag light. Seeing as how i'm not sure if i removed the negative cable, i simply did the reset that i was so used to doing; no luck.

What strikes me as being odd is now when i reset, it goes from the 3 sec, 2 flash, to the steady flashing after the next reset.

From THIS: (2nd one down)

To this:

___3 sec____, Flash, Flash, ____3 sec____

It's really puzzling. The worst that could of happened was the 2 airbag wires touched during the wire twisting. Even then, i'm not sure that'd cause much of an issue.

And to summerize; NO LIGHT WAS FLASHING BEFORE I MESSED WITH THE WIRES.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you

Nathan

an actual code for the srs system would be nice. there could be many things wrong, the resistance of the wires may be too high, may not even be the same issue.

So how can it be that? Not doubting you; just curious how that could be the culprit
