Car died today!
Hey guys I'm in need of some good words of wisdom. My car has died on 2 seperate occasions without warning. One time I stopped to get something out of the gas station and today I stopped to put gas in the car. Each time the car was off for about 5 minutes and then when I tried to start the car nothing happened. The car didnt even have power when I turned over the keys no lights, no beeps, nothing! Each time the car had to be started with a jump. The first time it happened I took it to autozone to have the battery checked and they told me it was fine and that the abttery looked new. the volts on the meter are also good. Today when I got it jumped the first time I tried to start it the lights on and the gages only flickered but no start. After that I adjusted the jumper cables on my battery and tried again and the car started. I was wondering has anyone else had this problem or know what it could be? Thanks!
I was thinking this possibly but it doesn't happen while driving. Is it possible to still get a jump start and the car work with a bad alternator? I have an appointment scheduled for friday at the nissan dealer but I'm hoping it holds out until they can tell me whats wrong.
Sounds like a loose connection. If it was the alternator, I would think it would show low voltage while running.

Yes but it would suck the battery dry!

Happened on my father's Z, the negative battery terminal ended up being lose and faulty on the end where it attached to the metal body of the car. I replaced the whole terminal and cable and the problem was solved.
