Default Touring Leather Seats Cracking

How many out there have a 350Z Touring model with the leather seats? .. Ive only had my Z for 6 months, and on the bottom left of the drivers seat, the leather seems to be wear'ing and tearing very fast .... The 6 month wear and tear is worse than my 7 year old Lexus LS 400 ! ... ..

Just Curious if anyone is experiencing the same problem....

Thx

look into the pants you wear. And heres a good tip. Try to "fall" in your seats when you get in . Not "SLIDE."

yeah i try not to drag my butt along the seat when getting in or out. I don't have any tearing yet but some parts are cracking already. The leather quality on the 03 isn't as good as i thought it would. 04's seems much softer and smoother

My seats are fine, after 5-6 months of driving it. If it cracks, you should take it to nissan.

I have over 13000 miles in 13months and my leather seats look new. I apply leather lotion often. The leather seats are not soft like the Maxima. So tender loving care is needed.

I don't put anything on my seats and they still look new. My Z is a daily driver for the last 14 months.

Your seats must have been made from one of the runts in the heard.

Actually my touring came with the most cheapest looking leather (lines in the leather) and thought the seats were seconds or something. All the G35C's and newer Z's i seen have very smooth leather. But they haven't ripped or anything yet, just look a little cheap for a factory job.

Some of you need to grow up -- this thread actually makes me laugh. It's Nissan's fault that you abuse your seats? Learn how to get into your car properly without dragging your entire body across the car, and apply lotion often. The seats will be fine. Instead of blaming someone else, educate yourself and prevent the problem!

[B]Some of you need to grow up...

rich, did you not get enough hugs from mommy? why don't you calm down. i have had three other vehichles with leather seats. my applications of oil were far and few between and i didn't need a "special way" to get into the seat. you know what genius, i never had any cracking in those. if you have to pay attention to how you get into a vehicle with leather interior to keep a seat from cracking within 3 to 4 months, there's a problem with the quality of leather. if you don't have anything productive to post, leave this thread.

I have the orange seats in the touring model. I also have 18300 on the car and have had no problems out of the seats. I also have used the seat warmers often in the winter time. The one thing i do different is the leather conditioner. I get my conditioner from the BMW dealer. They the best smelling stuff i have ever smelled. It has a mint smell that really compliments the leather smell. I love the stuff.
