Default storing car for years

i was wondering if any one had any advice for storing a car long term and by that i mean 10+ years. I have been reading around and have been getting some mixed advice on how to go about this. Should i fill gas tank and add Sta-Bil or should i only put an 1/8 tank of gas in and add Sta-bil. Also how often do you reccomend starting the car to make sure nothing drys out, i was thinking 3-4 months. any advice would be great thanks.

You should put a little more than 1/8 a tank of gas because in 10+ years, you'll look back at the $4+/gallon premium and be like hot damn gas was cheap!

No fuel in tank = potential for rust.
Fuel in tank = potential for gumming up fuel system.

Your call.

Talking about starting the car every 3/4 months means you are not going up into Space. (NASA). So why not take it for a spin every 3/4 months, run out the gas and fill up?

Lets think about this. Hold a depreciating asset for 10 years. Could we get more silly?

He's gonna steal it and figures after 10 years the statute of limitations will be up and he can take it out of storage.

Car thieves don't steal cars because they need one to drive in 10 years.

I'm going to guess why you would want to store a car for 10 years. Jail? Be real dude, leaving gas in the car would screw it up for 10 years, throw it in a heated garage with no gas if your really serious about this
