Default Tire Feathering Issues/Square Setup Solution?

Hey guys currently having the tire feathering problem with my 06. Had alignment new front tires (backs were new from previous owner) and theyre making a rediculous amount of noise after only about 4k maaaybe 5.

I've been looking at aftermarket because I want black anyway and I'm wondering if I just got all 4 8.0 instead of 8.5 I can rotate them and fix this problem correct? At the same time I'm wondering how it will effect the handling? Anyone else this? Thanks for any opinions guys. I just want to rid myself of this problem. Also hoping the smaller and lighter rims would help in the light to light accel.

You have an 06 with tire feathering? Chances are there are other issues to look at.
first try and confirm that you actually have 06 suspension under the car because it is possible previous owner took out a possible upgraded suspension and found whatever was available to prepare the car for sale. At least start from there

Changing wheels is not gonna solve the problem.Could be who did your alignment is not familiar with working on a Z.This may be one time to take your car to a Nissan dealer(one that does alot of Z work). As was mentioned, check out your suspension etc.See
about mods.
I'd get this fixed before you go onto any aftermarket wheels.
What brand tires are you running?

You have been on here for 4 years and haven't figured out that feathering is just an alignment problem.

OP, the Z does not like to hold alignment, the front end likes to toe out. Also the compression arm bushings are a major weak link, they wear quickly and throw off the alignment. The OEM lower control arm bushings are not much better , look into those too.

and getting a square setup will not solve OP's issue

A 350 needs to have the alignment checked annually at a MINIMUM. Every 6 months if you regularly hit speedbumps, pot holes, crappy roads, etc.

^ That thread (~200pg) has too much crap in it to be useful. I'd rather see it de-stickied and a new one started where people post exactly what works and what doesn't. Then lock it and sticky it.
I've got more info out of the posts in this thread than I've had trying to comb through that other monstrosity.

I know about the issue and the tsb and all that.. I also know alot of people still have problems after its "fixed"... I'm more concerned with being able to enjoy the car I guess.. So my real question would have to be.. If I simply get all same size rims and just rotate every other oil change I should be fine right? I defintely dont want to go bigger.. Z's seem to be weak on the low end so I dont want to add to that.

<<Very angry because I'm staring at stillen ss headers in my living room but it appears my money must be spent on tires instead

I'd say, no. You'd need to get non-directional tires that were all the same size to make a go of it, but even then, you will be burning them off quickly.

Even if it gets me 10 or 15k out of my tires with no crazy embarrassing noise I'd be a very happy man. Being able to rotate has to help with the noise atleast a little bit right??

Yes you can rotate tires but you will not be fine.

Eventually the front tires will feather. No matter where you move them they will make a washing machine on spin noise. On a positive note you will be delaying the inevitable.
