car shakes on highway
Drove the Z on a Sunday morning. Parked it, when I got home from work Monday evening I noticed the rear passenger tire was completely deflated sitting on the flat.
Filled it with 2 cans of fix a flat to get it inflated enough to drive to local shop to have plugged before closing.
I take the Z to work on Friday and notice violent shaking on the highway about 65-70mph. The whole car, not just the steering wheel. Feels like its coming from the rear passenger side where the flat tire was.
Took it to the shop to get the rears balanced. Drive home and same shaking happens. So I bring it back and they re-balance the tires saying "a weight fell off". I drive home and instead of the shaking starting at 65-70mph, it moves to 70-75mph. I call the shop back and they recommend me to another location that has the road force balancer. After balancing with the road force balance, I drive home only to notice the shaking was pushed back till 80mph.
Shop is telling me I need to replace tire that was flat. Saying the internal belt could have been damaged from sitting deflated for over a day. The tires are 3 months old, only driven on the weekends.
Should I replace tire or could it be something else?

Had a similar situation with Fix A flat several years ago(not a Z).
This stuff will act like a weight in your tire and throw off your balance.
Get your tire removed and cleaned out.I pity the guy doing this. Its gonna
be one sticky mess.Get the assembly rebalanced and see what happens.

any reptuable shop will know that the fixaflat in it is causing the balance problem. fix a flat does not dry easily so it will be chasing weight when they are balancing ..meaning, the fix a flat in the tire will be sliding around inside the tire throwing off where the weights need to be placed on the wheels.
also check for any type of wear of heat rings when you had a flat tire, that could cause a bad tire not feeling smooth.

What everyone else is saying; fix a flat brokt your tire. If you got a road hazard warranty with your tires, then it should be covered. If you didn't, then you're sol. I have never attempted to clean fix a flat, so feel free to share the results of your endeavor. However, take this as a learning experience never to use it again.

Just had the tire removed from rim and they pulled me in the back to show me the tire full of liquid up to about half the sidewall... Getting cleaned up now. Hopefully this will do it.
