Default Oil change question (when to)

I have been wondering about this for a while. I store my 06 Z through the winter, so for about 5 months it just sleeps. I have been changing my oil just before it goes to sleep. I know that oil should be changed every 3000 miles or 3 months. If I were to go by the 3 months then it should also be changed when I get it out to drive when winter is over with. So my question is: Should I change the oil just before I store it or when I get it out for the summer. I only drive my Z about 3000 miles a year so I only do one oil change a year. Thanks

Just wait until the engine starts ticking so loud that you can't drown it out with the radio. Then, it's time to change.

I would consider M1 EP or an Amsoil once-a-year option.

Maybe try it for 6 months and get a UOA.

Why not change the motor oil twice a year. Before and after storage. Its not going to kill your budget.

If you only drive 3k a year, change the oil when you take your car out of storage.
I would assume that you crank up your car occaisionally during its time in the garage?
You should...

There's always people from warmer climates giving advice on car storage for winter. If you don't store your car and don't have to worry about winter weather... don't give advice on it! You should not run the car during storage unless you run it long enough and hot enough to burn condensation off the oil. Otherwise read the storage thread here: https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...he-winter.html

Changing the oil when I park it for 5 months and again when I start driving it seems like such a waste of money. I would be changing the oil with no miles on it. Am I missing something?? I did read the storage thread, I dont start my car, I keep a battery tender on it, I over inflate the tires and all the rest of that good stuff
