Failed Catalytic Converter
I would get ART pipes and call it a day. Either way, labor is going to be an expensive part of the process whether you are swapping for OEM or aftermarket. Might as well go aftermarket if you planning on keeping the car for a while. You can also get exhausts while you are at it and get the UpRev tune. And as SDGenius said above, CA will get rid of sniffers for smog testing next year, so you'll pass emissions easy as the UpRev tuner can disable your codes/sensors or w/e.
Newb question, does it make the exhaust sound deeper? I'm looking to upgrade later so I have a more deeper sound. I don't want it to be too obnoxious though.
art pipes are definitely the best for the money as far as performance is concerned...will sound like stock at idle but like a beast full throttle. You won't pass inspection with those in cali though and car will smell like gas
It will make the exhaust louder not necessarily deeper, ART pipes will prevent rasp and give more HP then regular test pipes. Be warned that you will not pass your emissions test with ART pipes
hey i had my z checked out and the stealership told me 1700$ for cats and 750$ for labor... i laughed in there faces.. i took to my local mechanic and he did it for me labor+ parts for 435$$ dealerships r such rip offs
